First Look: Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush in romantic film 'Raanjhnaa

Raanjhnaa

In yet another unusual pairing in B-Town, director Aanand L Rai is bringing together the Bollywood fashion doll Sonam Kapoor with south star and ‘Kolaveri Di’ sensation Dhanush in his film Raanjhnaa.

The title itself suggests that the film is going to be a romantic movie. Sonam Kapoor plays the role of a middle-class girl studying in Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The first look of the film shows a casually clad Sonam on a college campus.

Dhanush reportedly plays a Brahmin boy from Varanasi. The first look has Dhanush posing for the camera in the holy city.

To prepare for her role of a JNU student, Sonam Kapoor reportedly participated in street plays, as such plays are a part and parcel of the JNU’s culture of political awareness and social activism.

Raanjhnaa director Aanand L Rai is impressed by Sonam’s commitment to her role. On the other hand, Dhanush has been taking lessons to brush up his Hindi speaking skills.

Rai’s last outing as director Tanu Weds Manu was a success and the movie buffs did like the offbeat pairing of Kangana Ranaut and Madhavan. Will Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush also strike the right chord? We’ll wait to see.
